The adventure began with a dramatic crash landing in a frozen tundra, where the party members found themselves unceremoniously falling from the sky into snow drifts and pine trees. The bitter cold immediately struck them, with winds howling like banshees across a patchwork landscape of white and gray, where snow drifts reached depths of three to five feet. The air was so cold it stung their lungs, and the only sound besides their muffled voices was an eerie silence. Kellen found himself stuck in one of the stunted, gnarled pine trees, requiring assistance to get down. Wallace successfully helped him descend with an impressive display of finesse, while the group noticed a mysterious raven soaring overhead against the white, overcast sky. During this time, Paul made the peculiar discovery that he inexplicably smelled of horse manure, though none could remember anything before their cold arrival. The party decided to follow the raven's flight path through the frozen wasteland for about an hour, their clothing proving inadequate for the harsh conditions. Their fingers grew stiff, and their facial hair froze with snow as they trudged through the bitter cold. Eventually, their perseverance led them to discover a well-traveled road, marked by heavy ruts and slushy snow. As they continued their journey, they came upon a wagon laden with traps and carcasses, with drops of frozen blood staining the snow beneath it. They discovered an elderly traveler, his gray beard frosted with snow, defending himself against a menacing white bear. Wallace attempted to intimidate the creature but inadvertently provoked it instead, leading to a fierce confrontation. The battle with the bear proved intense, with the creature inflicting wounds on Wallace and severely injuring Kellen with a powerful bite attack. The party coordinated their attacks using improvised weapons - Paul with a broom, Bolete with a broken wine bottle, and Wallace with his bare hands. The turning point came when Wallace critically wounded the bear's jaw in a visceral display of strength. The encounter reached its climax when Paul, despite standing only four feet tall, successfully intimidated the injured bear with his pointy teeth and fierce demeanor. The wounded creature, faced with the combined assault and particularly unnerved by Paul's unexpected display, finally retreated into the pine trees. The old traveler, armed with his spear but unable to land an effective hit during the fight, was left questioning the identity of his mysterious saviors.
