Daggerheart is a Darrington Press publication.
The adventure began when a group of amnesiac travelers encountered Jaeger, a weathered hunter fighting a polar bear in the snowy wilderness. The party helped fend off the bear, with Paul the goblin scaring it away through shrieking while Wallace sustained serious injuries from direct combat. Jaeger, grateful for their assistance, provided the group with winter clothing from his wagon, including specially fitted items like a newsie cap for Paul's bat-like ears and a fox fur scarf for Bolete.
Kellen, discovering he possessed healing abilities, used herbs from his leather pouch to treat Wallace's wounds. While applying the treatment, he experienced a mysterious vision and spoke the word "besmir" while tracing a mystical sigil. The healing magic required the expenditure of hope points but successfully stopped the bleeding. When Kellen used the same technique on himself, he experienced a vision of weathered feminine hands and a cryptic message about his gift.
The party traveled with Jaeger toward Frostglen, a frontier town split by an icy river. The settlement featured distinct southern and northern districts, with the south dedicated to trade and merchants while the north contained weathered shacks. The town was protected by the Aurorians, distinctive elven-like beings whose skin displayed pale white and blue hues, with hair that radiated aurora-like colors. These guards wore chain mail adorned with the town's heraldry of a fox and seal in a circle.
Upon reaching Frostglen, Jaeger directed the group to the militia infirmary, suggesting they seek out Captain Rhynn. At the infirmary, they met Matilda, a young dragonborn healer with dark blue scales and bright blue eyes. The group revealed their mysterious condition - none of them could remember anything beyond the past few hours, save for some vague feelings of familiarity with each other. Matilda suggested they would need to speak with both Captain Blaine and the Aurorian chieftain to understand their situation.
